Thirty-one years is a quite a marriage milestone but to Gwen Hayes, every day feels like the first day of marriage with her husband Randy. “In thirty-one years, he has never forgotten our wedding anniversary or our first date anniversary, always expressed with love and gratitude that we found each other in this world,” Gwen recalls.

Besides being a romantic strong in his Christian values, Randy also knows how to take care of his family when difficult times occur in life. When their then five-year-old daughter was in the hospital for open-heart surgery, Randy took over house chores and cared for their other daughter as Gwen stayed at Shands Hospital.

Another memory exemplifies Randy’s caring spirit happened at a recent restaurant stop when Randy paid for untouched meals that a waitress had brought out to customers that had left and gave them to a homeless man. “He just ‘does the right thing’ and always taught our girls to do the same because it is the right thing to do, not just because someone is looking,” Gwen states.

The best compliment Randy has received is that his three daughters hope to marry men with the same tender-hearted personality as their father, just like Gwen did 31 years ago.
