And the Winner is…..Lindsey Cipris

With both hands shooting up in the air and then clasping the top of her head, Lindsey Cipris displayed her surprise and excitement over being named LAKE Magazine’s 2010 Cover Girl winner.

“I’m so excited and I’m so happy. I really wasn’t expecting to win. I was just happy to make the top five but, you know, this is even better,” she says with a laugh.

Lindsey brought out even more laughs from the audience and Cover Girl finalists by playfully posing with her framed January cover and thanking her “pretend” producers, managers and entourage.

She then took the time to thank everyone who voted for her to win the title and plans to wear her new title well this year.

Joining Lindsey on her special night were her parents, Mike and Elizabeth Cipris, and her boyfriend, Johnny Mitchell, who were all excited for Lindsey’s big win.

“I was telling Johnny that I was nervous for her. My heart was pounding because I was so excited,” says proud dad Mike, who shared a “fist pump” with Lindsey before she took the stage to accept her win.

“We are very proud of her and very happy. I’m sure she has a lot of special things in mind for her new title [as the 2010 Cover Girl winner] and she will be a good representative for the magazine.”

Johnny recalled how Lindsey talked about the contest beforehand and how they both hoped she would be named Cover Girl.

“I think it is a great accomplishment. It was very unexpected,” he says. “I was hoping she was going to win and it worked out.”

As for her future endeavors, Lindsey plans to combine the new title with her mom’s enterprising photography business to create her own portfolio. For now, she will concentrate on letting all her supporters and voters know of her new “Cover Girl” status through e-mails and phone calls.

“I’m glad I did this contest. It has been fun and I have enjoyed the experience.”
